Mr. Michael L. Werth Sensei, Director and Dojo Cho
Werth Sensei
began studying Aikido in January of 1991 under Glenn Webber Sensei, who trained with
M. Kanai Shihan and T. K. Chiba Shihan, direct students of the Founder
of Aikido, Morihei Ueshiba O-Sensei. Aikido - Eastside is now affiliated with Lorraine DiAnne Shihan of Westside Aikido and T. K. Chiba Shihan of San Diego Aikikai and Birankai International North America.
Werth Sensei's most
recent accomplishment is the establishment of the Kids' Action League
of Martial Artists, Inc. 501(c) (3) (KALOMA), a non-profit organization which seeks
to join professional Martial Artists, Mathematics Teachers, and English
Teachers to provide character development training, numeracy tutoring,
and literacy tutoring to children and their families who cannot easily
afford these professional services. KALOMA seeks to provide opportunities
for all children to become as successful as they can be through character
education, advanced mathematics tutoring, reading, writing, and higher
education. Mr. Werth is a professional public school secondary mathematics teacher
who seeks to teach the Values of the Martial Arts to all who are interested
in the peaceful ways of Aikido.

Authentic Japanese Shotokan Karate-Do + The Ultimate After-school Youth Leadership Program
Mr. Jeramy E. Devlin-Martin Sensei, Certified Instrucor
Devlin-Martin Sensei (right) began training in 1989 as an apprentice to his father, Master Larry S. L. Martin Sensei (left). Devlin Sensei is a certified instructor of traditional Shotokan Karate-Do through the International Ryukyukai Karate Association, Shojukemo International Martial Arts Association, Karazenpo Go Shinjitsu Black Belt Society, World Combat Martial Arts Association, and the New England Traditional Shotokan Karate-do Alliance. He recently attended training under Master Melody Shuman Sensei of Clearwater, Florida, who is considered to be the finest children's martial arts instructor trainer in the United States.
Devlin Sensei is now the director of all Karate programs at Karate - Eastside at Main Street Martial Arts in Providence, RI. His most recent accomplishments include running his Summer Youth Karate Camp this past summer and starting up our new Ultimate After-School Youth Leadership Program at Main Street Martial Arts this fall.
Devlin Sensei brings an energy and enthusiasm to both traditional martial arts and children's leadership instructional programs that are unequalled in the Northeast region. He openly welcomes anyone in the community to try his classes, and see if his customized blend of traditional authentic Karate-Do training combined with research-based modern developmental and group fitness instruction is the right choice for your children, your family, or for you as an individual. Mr. Charles G. Westcott is a certified Tai Chi for Arthritis Instructor and has been practicing Yang long form Tai Chi for over 10 years.

BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU

Mr. Daniel Faggella, BJJ and Submission Grappling Instrucor
Mr. Daniel Faggella is a grappling competitor/fighter at many events including the North American Grappling Association (www.nagafighter.com) tournament and Association of Grappling Competitors http://agctournaments.tv/agc/index.php) tournament series.
Coach Faggella has been wrestling competitively throughout high school and college and was introduced to BJJ in 2005 with the instruction of Coach Mat Santos. He now trains 7 days a week and thoroughly analyzes technique and concepts to better his understanding of the art, and his ability to teach the core principles as well as strategic details.
Coach Faggella has won numerous expert divisions in submission grappling, including the NAGA New England and AGC tournaments. He also placed 1st in the NAGA Worlds in his division, and 1st in no-gi grappling at the AGC.
Coach Faggella continues to strive to perfect his understanding and application of Jiu Jitsu, through traveling and training at many schools, including Coach Lloyd Irvin Sensei's academy in Maryland, Louzon MMA in Bridgewater, MA, and many other schools. Coach Faggella invites you to train with him on Saturdays at Main Street Martial Arts. Students who are also interested in competing (not required to train!) in tournaments may ask Coach for further advice and training opportunities on a private or semi-private basis.
